송원진 A Dances from A Songs

사회로부터 개인성을 부여 받는 일은 여러 가지 모순을 수반한다. 송원진은 인간의 관계성에 주목하여 작업을 하여왔고 사회 속에서 개인이 성립되는 기준에 대한 의문을 제시하여 왔다. 이번 전시에 보여 지는 싱글 채널 영상작품「하나의 노래들로부터 하나의 춤들」은 한 장소에서 여러 개인들이 각각의 공간을 점유하는 모습을 보여준다. 각자 이어폰을 통해 들려오는 음악은 공공의 장소에서 개인의 공간으로 이끌어주는 모습을 보여준다. 각자 이어폰을 통해 들려오는 음악은 공공의 장소에서 개인의 공간으로 이끌어주며 즉흥적인 춤으로 표출되는 그들의 리듬은 겹쳐지는 듯 겹쳐지지 않는다. 그들 각자의 동작들 사이에 새로운 불협의 공간이 생성된다. 설치 작품인 「질서의 절반」은 눈에 보이지 않는 전기를 통해 작동하는 전기제품들이 그들만의 퍼포먼스를 하도록 연출하였다. 사람이 작동해야 움직이는 일상적인 사물들은 사람이 개입하지 않은 상황에서 움직임을 획득함으로써 일상성에 추상성을 덧입게 된다. 그들의 반복적이고 미세한 움직임과 소리, 빛 등에 주의를 기울이다 보면 사물들이 마치 인강성을 띄고 있는 듯하며 그들의 대화에 우리 역시 참여자로 이끌고 있음을 눈치 챌 수 있다. 하나와 하나, 하나와 여럿 사이에서 생겨나는 가능성은 그것이 새롭든 그렇지 않든 드러날 때 의미를 가질 수 있는 것이다.

What individuality is given from the society goes with many contradictions. Wonjin Song keeps working with human relations, and also suggests the criteria which are established individuality in the society. 「A Dances from A Songs」, the single channel video resents the scene that many individuals occupy their own spots on the one space. The music from each ear phones brings them oyt from the public space into the personal space, while the rhythms from impulsive dances seem to be an overlap or not. A new disharmony space is created among their choreographies. The installation, 「Half of the Order」, is the kind of performance that the electrical products present their own works with invisible electricity. It means that the electrical products are working by themselves so that they can get the abstractness on the ordinariness. When people concentrate on the products' tiny movements, sounds, lights and other details, they are just like having thir own personalities. Also we can get a sense that the people are invited as participants to thir converations. The possibility which is made from between one and another, one and many others, whether new or not, has a meaning when they are shown.

In modern society, it is possible that public sphere like mental process switches to public sphere through networking system. This phenomenon can be explained by the similarities between human consciousness and computer. This idea connects to the similarities between society and network system. The computer imitates the process of human consciousness, and the networking system and society is affecting and changing each other. Social networking system is an effective tool to measure social connectedness which indicates patterns of inclusion and exclusion. This can increase social reflectivity and foster the transmission of social values.
